1. Preparation and introduction
Project: blending medicine and psychiatry with anthropology and sociology.

2. Migration and health

Applications in clinical work, teaching and research, back in Geneva, at University hospital and psychiatric services, as well as with integration offices for asylum seekers and refugees.
Seminars, workshops and supervisions in cultural psychiatry at hospital and other health and social services in Switzerland and in France.

Starting research and application with performance studies and theater anthropology:
Seminars and workshops with the International School of Theatre Anthropology (ISTA), based in Holstebro, Denmark and directed by Eugenio Barba;  Performance Studies International (PSi), based at New York University and directed by Richard Schechner; and the Centre for Performance Research (CPR), based in Aberystwyth, Wales and directed by Richard Gough.
1992
Completing a multidisciplinary PhD (anthropology, sociology and psychiatry) at Tulane University, with a dissertation, published in 1997:

Starting the consultation in cultural psychiatry in Geneva and the ongoing teaching and research program.
